		<description>It&#039;s a pain, isn&#039;t it? I was recently on high-dose flucloxacillin for a severe infection for several weeks, and, being a doctor, I did not take kindly to being a patient. Some useful pointers:

1. It does not have to be 6 hourly. 6 am, 12 noon, 6 pm and 10 pm is a good schedule (and it does not have to be on the dot).

2. It should be an hour before food, but the time after a meal is never fully specified. However, the stomach is normally fully emptied after 4 hours. I reckon the antibiotic absorption will be effective if you wait 2 hours after a meal. Breakfast at 7, lunch at 1, a little at 4 pm teatime and supper at 7 should keep you fed and antibioticised.</description>
