Yes, you can get impetigo or other infections on your outer ear and it can spread to your inner ear. It is also possible this could be swimmer’s ear as well. I just got over a horrible case of otitis externa which started as a small skin infection and spread to my ear and jaw. Do your best to keep your ear dry when taking a shower, try not to scratch at it or touch it where this infection is, and if the sore is on the outer part of the ear you could put some antibiotic ointment on it. If it does not clear up or looks like impetigo or is spreading you should get it looked at. I would not want you to have to go through what I had to go through. Here is a link with some info below…
