Can I put on make-up with impetigo?

I had a small scratch on my chin, that has quicky developed into a large sore. My GP confirmed it was impetigo and put me on antiobiotics. The sore is very noticeable, and Im not sure I want to go out with such a large sore on my face, the infection spread to my neck and is quite sore. I normally wear foundation (light coverage), I was wondering if it’s possible to use foundation over the scab as it heals? as long as you don’t rub it? Then wash hands then use it over the rest of your face? and does anyone know how long it will take to get rid of it it? I don’t want to be hiding in doors the whole of this week!
