In October 2008 I was diagnosed with impetigo. It was very small and unnoticeable until around February when it came up quite seriously. They then gave me a cream, that had no effect, and then another which did sort of. It worked up until the point where the area affected nearly cured. Now it flares up about once a fortnight for a day or so. It’s very irritating. Should I go see my doctor, or just deal with it?
I should probably add that there is nothing oozing, when it appears. It is just a red patch of skin, that’s very itchy and sometimes it stings.

If you are getting "impetigo" every fortnight, for a day or so, I’d have to doubt your diagnosis. Perhaps it’s actually a herpes infection, which becomes secondarily impetiginized? When it comes up again, why not see a skin specialist, rather than a family doctor, so u can get the right diagnosis.
