My little brother has impetigo.. a skin disease on his face at the moment.
He's on antibiotics & has cream but has been told its really contagous
I'm a bit paranoid as i live with him & i reeeally don't want to catch it as i've had it before & its horrible

I have been staying in seperate rooms away from him, using my own towels & havn't touched anything he's touched.. or touched him!... lol

Is there still a chance i may get it? How can i prevent catching it?
(bear in mind i have no choice but to live in the same house as him so can't walk away lol)

In October 2008 I was diagnosed with impetigo. It was very small and unnoticeable until around February when it came up quite seriously. They then gave me a cream, that had no effect, and then another which did sort of. It worked up until the point where the area affected nearly cured. Now it flares up about once a fortnight for a day or so. It's very irritating. Should I go see my doctor, or just deal with it?
I should probably add that there is nothing oozing, when it appears. It is just a red patch of skin, that's very itchy and sometimes it stings.

Im probably the cleanest person... out of all my friends, family everyone and i get it. I mean wtf.

I got it right and at first i had no idea what it was, i thought it was just a scar or something so i left it for a while and it didnt stop and then i realised i gotta check it out and it turns out i had impetigo and whats worse it was on my dam nose.. of all places lol. My dad, "genius" said use some soda crem or whatever its called and it worked, it got rid of it the thing is its left a little scar on my nose... as its on my nose its hard not to notice it but the scar is quite deep... its like a little dark orange circle and ive tried creams to get rid of it but nothing... i really want to get rid of this scar, is there anything that will work? Any home remedies?

i am not too sure but i think i may have Impetigo. What started out as a spot has now turned into a huge scab and now i am getting smaller little spots on my body. Well i wouldnt say they were spots, they look and feel similar to when you have popped a blister. I had one little one on my bum and now i have serveral they are very itchy and sore. I am gong to ring my GP in the morning but i just wanted to know if there are any home remedies to help it until i go to the docs. I dont have any cream or anything. thankyou

i have a 3 month old boy and his sister had impetigo like last week and is still on antibiotics for it. now i think he has it as the doc told me it starts of as pimply looking things and then they break and it becomes crusty yellow goow on a scab anyway he had the smallest scratch on his lip and it has gone a little like the yellow stuff and im freaking out! my partner says im just being paranoid and that it is just a normal scratch but i dont think so as he has about 5 pimply looking things on him which i think look diffrent from his usual rash that is all over his body partner thinks its the same tho but he laid back and im always paranoid about things! anyway what i wanna know is has anyones baby had this before? and how young? and also is impetigo really that serious for bubbas? and could it wait till monday to take him to docs?

My daughter has blisters that have bust and have begun to ooze and create yellow crust. Well right now it is red and it look like sores. Well the doctors say that it might be Impetigo and it is not MR-SA. They check her for that. She has been on cephalexin oral medication to get rid of it. She has been taking it for 4 days and it is still spreading. Has anyone had this? Did it spread when you was still on medication? How to get rid of it? How to stop the spreading? Now my daughter is 2 months old and it is on her head. Has anyone use this medication and when it begun to get better? How do you know when it get better? Also if it is not impetigo, what is it?
